I love this clip - a huge bunch of my Future Owners after our show at Kirstenbosch. It is awesome to see them all clutching their free demo's of my album 'yet to be'! I am stoked to be capturing moments like these to remind me of this incredible journey and all the amazing people and friends who are making it possible!

The moments that define us...

I wrote this in my journal on May 10th and thought I would put it out there to share how I sometimes feel on this journey on the days when it isn't easy....

It is such a priviledge to be meeting some of the greatest teachers in the world and working side by side with them and seeing that my songs have credibility and add meaning. Yet, in the midst of all that I am feeling small and scared today. It doesn't stop me from getting up on stage and doing my job, but once I am off I am feeling like I'm not good enough, I'm all alone, no-one takes me seriously. There is a big lesson in this – HUGE.

The minute my success starts unfolding it is as if I unconsiously start sabotaging it to keep myself small. The very thing I talk to people about doing – allowing yourself to shine - I guess I am doing myself even when it scares me. I think I will start to share that with people – my strength is that even when I am feeling terrified that is wont happen for me, or why do I have the right to shine, I still get up there and do it. I carry on regardless and commit to showing up for this dream I am creating.

Along the way I still create some drama for myself, but at the end of the day I do show up. I share honestly and openly with people and I need to acknowledge how powerful that is. I am learning to be an inspirational speaker. I am giving people my songs to take home and have in their lives. I am giving people my journey to see what is possible for them. I am playing on a HUGE stage with some of the most inspiring people on the planet. Even though today I am feeling a little scared and unappreciated because I haven't sold many CD's YET – I am so aware of the opportunity before me where my music is getting out there and I am doing my job of inspiring people.

Thank you for putting me here, even with tears welling up behind my eyes and threatening to flow at any moment, I am still here, I am still planning what to say next, what to sing next. I am still daring to dream that all of this is possible for me. That I will be on Oprah. That I will sell 10 million albums and raise over R160million for my charities. That I will be a voice for hope and change and inspiration in the world. That I will play to packed audiences of millions of people around the world who come to listen, to sing, to dance, to rejoice and be counted. That I will impact millions of lives with the story of my courage to just try – to get out there and give it my all.

Today I am truly standing in the middle of the road I am on and making another choice to keep on walking even though I have less that no idea what is around the corner. Even though I have no idea where the next pay cheque will come from. Even though I have no idea of how my dreams will come true. These are the moments that define us – the ones when we keep on going, keep on reaching and keep on thinking bigger than we would dare to dream is possible for us. This is that moment for me...

Thought for the week...

Letting go does not mean losing,

Shining in Karatara

In April the band and I headed off on a tour of the Garden Route and got to stop in at www.edencampus.co.za at Karatara on our way up to St Francis Bay. I have told the guys so much about the students and the magic they are creating there and that they have made Shine their school song. It was awesome to finally get Helder, Nelson and Tony there and to put on a concert for the students and town residents in the fading light of day playing on the porch of the old town hall. It was one of those truly South African moments when we realised it was getting dark and we had no lighting. In true 'a boer maak a plan' style the students rushed around and put candles in Coke bottles and put them along the steps of the porch, and some of the local farmers drove their bakkies up onto the lawn and shone their lights on us.

Needless to say we played about three encores with much dancing and singing from everyone there. The highlight for me was inviting the choir to come up and sing Shine with me, all of us holding a candle and singing our hearts out. By the end of the song I had the entire university and local junior school singing on the top of their lungs 'I'M GOING TO SHINE!”

One of those experiences of a lifetime. Man – I love this journey I am on!

Picture Perfect...

For a few months now I have been saying I need new pictures taken as I keep having to send magazines and papers a choice of the same three photos - very boring. Things have been so busy that I kept forgetting to organise a photographer and a day to shoot on.

So imagine my delight when I was on the Lisa Nichols tour, that I was approached by a photographer Gary, who offered me a free shoot as his studio Picture Perfect in Durbanville.

Free photo shoots are like winning the lottery! I made sure to follow up with him and book a date and last Friday I got to spend a few hours with Gary and his team and was blown away by the pics he captured in a short time. We had a blast dressing me up in some stunning Hip Hop creations and then getting creative in the studio with lighting and wind! I look forward to getting the finished pics from him and will post some when I do but here are some pics of the shoot in progress.

I am singing with Mike...

Great news - another of the teachers featured in the hit DVD The Secret and father of the doctrine “Thoughts become things!” will be touring South Africa and I am singing at one of his talks!

Joburg, Durban, Cape Town...

I have just gotten back from singing Shine and talking about The Lucky Packet Project to Robin Bank's Mind Power group in Durban. There were 260 people in the room and it was my first time to ever sing in Durban which was awesome.

I was on a complete high already as on Monday I sang and spoke to Robin's group in Joburg and had 25 new future owner join the project! We then jumped into a chauffer driven car at 11.30pm and were driven for 4 hours to the Drakensberg Sun where Robin was scheduled to do a talk at 9am the next morning. I loved the experience of having a car waiting for us to get to the next talk and it was exhilirating to wake up at 7.30am and be greeted by the breathtaking view of the Drakensberg Mountains from the hotel room! I got to sing to the entire management staff of Tsogo Sun overlooking a still lake reflecting the looming mountains – I mean what a blessed setting to do what I love to do!

But I digress – my excitement comes from last night's experience. Not only am I getting to sit on the Mind Power course and get hugely inspired to keep my daily practices of visualising where I want my career to go; affirming what I want to show up in my life and remembering to be grateful for everything I am experiencing, BUT – I am also getting to be infront of incredible inspired audiences and share my story and vision with them. Last night that resulted in 40 more Future Owners joining my journey and me having the delightful problem of actually running out of the free demos I give away!

In the last week I have had 160 people become Future Owners and help me prove that nothing is impossible when we dare to dream and get out there and make life happen for ourselves. Thank you thank you thank you!
