I am sitting warmly wrapped up as and very relieved that my serious cold that threatened to almost see our On Broadway show cancelled last night was kind enough to hold off until I got off stage! It was quite a few days leading up to the show with me sitting in rehearsals with eyes streaming and a bright red nose from constantly being buried in a tissue... but, amazingly after many hot toddy's and any flu remedy I could throw at the problem I found myself on stage singing like a lark with not a sneeze or sniffle in sight... adrenalin is a beautiful thing!
Suffice to say we had an awesome gig and by the end of nearly two hours of 'shaking what my mama gave me' I was ready to go home and collapse in a heap. Luckily today is an easy one so I am enjoying the last bit of autumn sun and feeling really good after such a well supported show that saw the audience hands in the air and raising their voice with us right to the end and through the encore. Another highlight was having Cape Town photographer Neill Le Roux come & take pics of the soundcheck nd show and we cant wait to see what he managed to get on film!
The biggest encore of the evening though was that the management at On Broadway loved the band so much that we have been invited back to perform on Sun 7th June so we are thrilled! It gives us the opportunity to put on another serious show with great sound and lighting and I already have my thinking hat on as to how make this next show rock even more than last night. See you there!
