It has been a productive and creative week for me! Moved into a lovely new home and am settling in nicely; then after watching the American Idols final wrote a wicked new song "Try Again" that should get people up, jumping & excited about life; been replying to all the emails that flooded in after Journey to the Core and topped it off with a great rehearsal with the band!
We are looking for a guitarist at the moment so had a very talented young guy join us for the session, and he played really really well. It was awesome to hear guitar back on our songs so hopefully we will be a 5 piece band in the not too distant future when we find the right fit - nearly nearly there!
In the rehearsal the guys started working on my song "One of these Days" that I wrote 10 years ago! The lyrics have been sitting in my song book all this time and 2 months ago I felt inspired to put music to them. What we have now is a rocking song that smacks of Maroon 5 with a dash of Nickleback and is a seriously 'get your butt out of bed & get on with it' kind of tune! I am definitely exploring my inner rock goddess at the moment, not to mention a bit of dance diva with another new song "You You You"! I can't express how amazing it is to step into a rehearsal room with such talented musicians and hand over a song and have them transform it into something ready to hit the stage!
Can't wait for our On Broadway show as we will be playing at least 3 new songs so I have a feeling that album number 2 is on its way! Give them a shout on 021 424 1194 to book a table for our show next Sun 7th June. Going to be a goodie!
