I have just watched this 10 minute clip and had tears streaming down my face and feel moved and inspired. The UpLiftment Program is run by a good friend of mine Nikki Jackman - an incredibly talented & beautiful actress who has chosen to use her talent not only to follow her own dreams & aspirations but also to bring a little more joy to the world. Her laughter sessions & care clowning iniatives are phenomenal and watching this piece that was flighted on Free Spirit on SABC3 has brought home to me the enormity of the work she does and in the incredible difference her drive, passion and vision are making in this country.
Everyone of us can get involved in some way like this. It is so easy to get lost in the humdrum of day to day and forget how fortunate we actually are. Watching this was a big wake up call for me. There are so many people out there really suffering and just imagine finding a way to put a smile on their face and reach across divides and discover the humanity that unites us?
